The 5th City In Action powered by DEI is a fact!

Three days of activities in the city center.

Patras puts on its “yellow jerseys” and takes to the streets once again. City In Action powered by DEI returns to continue an institution that began in 2022 and was immediately embraced by the public, combining action sports with awareness and entertainment activities focused on sustainable mobility.

As part of City In Action powered by DEI, taking place from 04 to 06 June, the Patras Cycling Club is organizing the “5th Open Cycling Tour of Patras” (Saturday 06/06), with DEI as the Grand Sponsor for the 5th consecutive year and the message: “Power Up The Ride.”

DEI supports cycling as a means of sport, recreation, and sustainable transportation. Through its energy transformation and green development strategy, DEI invests in initiatives that encourage more sustainable everyday choices, highlighting the important role of cycling in improving quality of life.

In addition to cyclists, citizens using rollers, skateboards, roller skates, or any environmentally friendly means of movement are also invited to participate in the tour.

The city ride is organized in cooperation with the Hellenic Cycling Federation and with the support of local groups and communities.

REGISTRATIONS ARE OPEN!

Participants can register for the Cycling Tour through the organization’s website, www.cityinaction.gr, or at the organization’s kiosk operating in Georgiou Square from Thursday, 01 June. Participation is open to all ages. Children up to 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

All participants will receive at the starting area:

• the event t-shirt (sports jersey)
• a personal participation pass with bib number

Additionally, during the three-day event, a “Prototype Bicycle Skills Track” dedicated to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the U.N. will be installed at Georgiou Square for children aged 6 to 14, with free participation for the public.

The event is organized by the coordination team of the “HERO 2030 bike festivals” program, whose activities are non-profit in nature and are carried out with the support of the United Nations Regional Information Centre, the largest cycling community “in action,” and the organizational support company “enzyme.”

Georgiou Square will serve as the central hub of the three-day event, hosting parallel activities, happenings, DJs, and other events.

At the same time, during the three days, visitors to Georgiou Square will have the opportunity to participate in a series of activities organized by DEI, the Grand Sponsor of the event, learn everything about electric bicycles, try state-of-the-art scooters free of charge, and take photos with commemorative gifts.

As the grand finale of the event, City In Action powered by DEI invites the public to the NOP Parking Area (opposite Veso Mare), where the finish line of the 5th Open Cycling Tour will also take place. There, participants and visitors will enjoy a unique concert by Dimos Anastasiadis, with free admission for everyone, marking the close of the three-day celebration of action and entertainment in the most festive and musical way.
